Dr. Bruce Loc DO is the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association, the official and professional teaching English association approved by Ho Chi Minh City’s People Committee. Besides, he is the Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics & Finance (UEF) – one of the fastest-growing international Universities in Vietnam with 20,000 students. He took charge as University Vice President at the age of 34 and is regarded as one of the youngest top executives in Vietnam and Southeast Asia’s higher education. Prior, Dr. Bruce Loc Do held the position of Dean of English and Executive Education at Vietnam National University HCMC and had ten years of teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Troy University (USA).

A/P. Dr. Vu Ngoc NGUYEN is an academic professional with extensive experience in educational leadership, research, and teaching, and is currently serving as Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT). Dr. Vu is also the President of South Vietnam Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (STESOL) and a Committee member of Vietnamese TESOL Association (VietTESOL) and Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association (HCMC TESOL).

Dr. John R. BAKER has worked with writing and self-access centers and taught writing, ESOL, and literature in the U.S.A. and Asia (Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam). His research interests include second language writing and reading, self-access and writing center administration, and research methods. He regularly publishes, edits, and reviews for several journals and has worked with international and local book publishers.

A/P. Dr. Fei Zhou has accumulated more than two decades of experience in the higher education industry. Benefit from his career, he has clear vision on the whole education industry.He began his academic career at a prestigious private high school in Chengdu, China. Following a five-year tenure as the education director at New Oriental, China, the preeminent and largest international consulting and language efficiency training organization in China, he accepted a position as associate professor and director of the international affairs department at Hope Education Group,  China, the second largest private higher education conglomerate in China. His international educational career began at INTI International University in Malaysia, and he is currently the first Chinese to serve as president of a Thai higher education institution, Shinawatra University in Thailand.

A/P. Dr. Saiwaroon CHUMPAVAN, an alumna of Illinois State University in Illinois, USA, has a rich academic background. She began her career in the Faculty of Humanities at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand, where she dedicated several years to her work. In 2020, she made a transition to North Bangkok University, holding key administrative roles such as Chair of the B.A. program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Director of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in English Language Studies. After contributing her expertise to North Bangkok University for three years, she subsequently moved to Metharath University (now Shinawatra University), where she presently imparts knowledge in the Faculty of Education. Her teaching responsibilities encompass both undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Chumpavan specializes in elevating the English skills of Thai students through English as a Foreign Language and evaluating the language proficiency of EFL teachers in Thailand.

Ms. Lindsay HERRON, Ph. D Candidate is a visiting professor at Gwangju National University of Education in Korea, a doctoral candidate in language education, and the current president of Korea TESOL. Her research focuses on the critical cosmopolitan literacies of university students participating in an online intercultural exchange.

A/P. Dr. Duc Huu PHAM– Lecturer at the International University – Vietnam National University HCMC. He earned a BA in ELT from HCMC University of Education in 1991, MA in TESOL from the University of Canberra, Australia in 2001, and Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2008. He was a visiting scholar to the Department of Applied Linguistics, UCLA in the USA from 2010-2011. His areas of teaching and research includes applied linguistics and linguistics, applied linguistics with TESOL, computer assisted language learning, and translation. He has published several articles in applied linguistics. 

Dr. Vi Thanh Son, Senior lecturer/ Assistant professor, Department of Education and Special Education, Univeristy of Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English pedagogy and linguistics from Cantho University, Vietnam. Subsequently, she pursued advanced education, fueled by scholarships from Sweden and Germany, earning a master’s degree in Language and Culture from Linköping University, Sweden, and another master’s degree in Higher Education Pedagogical Research and Leadership from Kassel University, Germany. Her academic pursuits culminated in a PhD in Linguistics from Lund University, Sweden. Throughout her career, she has been actively engaged in teaching, examining, and supervising in various domains, including English language education, English linguistics, teacher training programs, and the International Master’s Programme in Educational Research. Her research encompasses the intersection of English linguistics (EFL) and education including corpora in language learning and teaching. Son has also presented her work at a number of national and international conferences.

Ms. Camille WILLIAMS is a U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow hosted by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. She has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems, an M.B.A., an M.A. in International Management, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics. Her career started in various U.S. corporations. However, a desire for greater impact led to a career change to teaching. She has taught in the USA, Ecuador, China, Brazil and Vietnam. Her education experience includes English language instruction, materials/course development, teacher training, and program management.

Dr. Giang Lu DINH is a faculty member at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University. His research interests span sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, language contact, language education, ICT in language teaching and learning, and experimental phonology. Recently, he has delved into AI applications in social sciences, text-to-speech technology for ethnic languages, and language therapy.

Dr. Nghi TRAN, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade. Dr. Nghi is an experienced educator and researcher interested in second language acquisition and pedagogy. His work focuses on developing and implementing effective teaching methodologies, using corpus-based techniques in language teaching, AI in Education, and the role of literacy in second language learning. He has a strong record of scholarly publications in prestigious Scopus-indexed journals. His commitment to ongoing professional development is evident through his active involvement in leading organizations like VietTESOL, STESOL, and VietCALL. Dr. Long NGUYEN brings nearly 20 years of teaching expertise to Tan Tao University, specializing in translation, business English, and language acquisition. His research interests include contrastive linguistics and TESOL inform his engaging, evidence-based teaching approach. As he is passionate about empowering students, he fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing them for academic and professional success.

Dr. Han Van HO has taught research writing, linguistic comparison, cognitive linguistics, and pragmatics for ages. His research interests include SLA, linguistics, and teaching English. He is a reviewer for international journal of learning, teaching and educational research. He is working as a Dean of Foreign Languages Faculty at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Vietnam.

Mr. Phuoc Huu NGUYEN is currently an IELTS instructor at ZIM Academy, a former Academic Lead, and Teacher Trainer at Chi Phan Learning Centre. He is a TESOL M.A. Candidate. Throughout his years of teaching and training, he has been involved in teaching a variety of learners, young and adults. He is also in charge of developing ESL curriculum and training new teachers.

Dr. Nhon DANG, Dean of the School of Languages, Tan Tao University, earned his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University in HCMC. He is an experienced lecturer of English with ongoing research-driven professional development. Dr. Nhon previously received a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in TESOL at Minnesota State University. While completing his Master’s, he was one of several Fulbright students in Southeast Asia to be awarded a grant for educational purposes. Currently, he is the Director of PhD Program in Semiotics and Cultural Studies, Shinawatra University, Bangkok, Thailand. He was a visiting  fellow at Northern Illinois University in USA, National University in Australia, and London University in England.

A/P. Dr. My- Tham DUONG is currently Vice Dean of the Faculty of English at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Vietnam. She has worked with EFL students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Vietnam and abroad. Her academic areas of interest predominantly lie in content and language integrated learning (CLIL), project-based learning (PBL), task-based language teaching (TBLT), English language teaching (ELT), language skills, language learning strategies, and learner autonomy.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thao Quoc Tran is Vice Dean of the Faculty of English Language at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Vietnam. He has been teaching English for over 20 years, and he is experienced in teaching English to both local and international students. His research areas are English language teaching methodology, English language skills, teacher professional development, and discourse analysis.

Dr. Phi The TRAN currently works as Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages, Saigon University; Vice President of South Vietnam Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (STESOL) under Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges (AVU&C). Mr. Andy Tri NGUYEN is currently a PhD Candidate in TESOL. He graduated from Master of TESOL in Edith Cowan University Australia. He is an independent researcher with several national and international publications in Scopus. He is also a reviewer of different Scopus journal. Moreover, he is an advisor of various institutions in English curriculum and material development. His research interests include intercultural communication and teaching methodology.

Ms. Anna Ngan Le is currently a PhD Candidate in Business Administration. She graduated from Master of TESOL in Victoria University, Australia. Ms. Anna Ngan Le is a Committee member of HCMC TESOL. She has been the Director of Studies of English language schools for 10 years. She has almost 20 years of teaching English as a foreign language and has been training teaching methodologies for local and international people, material/ program design and management. She has also worked as a speaker for different TESOL workshops and conferences as well as inspiration and motivation workshops and talks for university students in using English for their career.
